Thursday - Practice Practice, Practice
I believe it! These kids like what they are doing. Feet may be sore, arms ache, legs stiff, but watching these kids build this show... you can see the attitude there that they can and will do it.
It is practice that makes it better. This morning the kids continued putting more of the show on the field.
They are into the daily routine and know where to go, what to get, where to put it, when to do it.
And this all comes from repetition. You would think with all this there would be complaints and bad attitudes, but they don't do it. The upperclassmen know what is expected and the freshman are seeing how it is to be done and once again the knowledge is being carried over to another class.
This afternoon the kids got and extra 45 minutes of "feet up" rest time. Many used it to rest, other sat back and listened to music, read or just talk with each other.
The rain has held off, it is partly sunny but the humidity is up. What is one way to deal with the temps and humidity? Frozen pops! Always a hit with the kids.

Your comments about the bands' work ethic do not surprise me. My son has been in RHS's band for 4 years now and I am always impressed by their character. Mr. Phillips expects great things from them, and they usually do not disappoint. I am so excited to see the show tomorrow night!!! And by the way, I'd like to thank you parents doing the Blog. The twice daily entries and hundreds of pictures are really appreciated. You are GREAT!
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for the pictures and blogs. It makes it more fun for us parents at home when we can play "Where's Waldo" looking for our kids in the pics! Makes it easier when we are missing them. I am so proud of all of our RHS Band kids. They truly do rock! And the parents and Mr. Phillips and Mrs. McGlincy rock too! Thank you all for takin care of my kid!
